HSHP Research and Experiential Learning Showcase - POSTER SESSION
A poster session is a graphical presentation of the author’s research. Authors illustrate their findings through graphs, photos, diagrams, and supporting text on their poster boards.
The session takes place in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU). Presenters will remain with their posters to discuss their work and answer questions as attendees move throughout the space.
Poster Abstract and Review Period:
- Submission period ends April 13th at 11:59 pm.

General Information:
Presenters are responsible for printing their posters. Please review the Poster Printing Resources for approved campus printing options.
The poster session is 75 minutes long. During the session, you will remain by your poster board and share your research with attendees.
Posters must be set up at least 30 minutes before the session begins.
Presentations must be taken down within 30 minutes after the session concludes.
Display materials not removed within the removal window will be discarded.
No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations.
Presentation boards and board magnets will be available on site for mounting posters.
Poster Development Tips:
- Standard posters size fit on mounted boards that are 36" tall by 70" wide.
- Keep accessibility in mind when designing your poster. Checkout the National Institutes of Health's Creating a Scientific Poster guidelines for more guidance.
- The material should be well labeled and legible from a distance of 10 to 15 feet away. Lettering should be bold. Use a large sans serif font such as Veranda.
- Consider the Better Research Poster design for an easy-to-digest poster design.
