The University of Iowa Therapeutic Recreation Advisory Board serves as a collaborative forum that brings together faculty, staff, professionals, alumni, and students to share current knowledge, analyze trends, review curriculum, and explore opportunities for collaboration. This board was established in 2023 with an inaugural group that has served as foundational members.

Board members participate in three meetings each year—held in the fall, spring, and summer—either on the University of Iowa campus or virtually. In addition to meetings, members may also participate in additional projects or committee work based on their interests and availability. Active membership is structured as a one-year term, renewable annually for up to three years, allowing for both continuity and new perspectives.

Through their service, members help shape the future of Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Iowa, support the student experience, and strengthen the department’s commitment to excellence.
