Biography
  • Degree: BA in Health and Human Physiology (Health Promotion)
  • Year: 2019

After graduating in 2019, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with my degree. I knew I was passionate about health care and wellness, but I didn’t see myself in a clinical role. I took a job in home health-care and hospice in a marketing and sales role. Working for a year solidified the fact that I loved the business side of health care which served as the catalyst for pursing my Master’s of Health Administration at Tulane University in New Orleans.

After I graduate in May 2022, I will be back in the Midwest working for a private practice group in Chicago! My work will consist of business development, clinical operations, and building the brand of the new practice.

My biggest word of advice to students would be to get involved during your time at UI and network with working professionals. You won’t learn about every potential career or job while sitting in class. For example, joining student organizations such as Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) connected me to public health and health administrators. Take advantage of all the resources on campus–especially your professors!
