While Ohio State and Indiana did battle for the Big Ten Football Championship in Indianapolis on December 6, four members of UISRM's 'varsity roster' also took on the Big Ten’s best in the inaugural B1G Case Competition. Organized by the University of Oregon's Warsaw Sports Business Center, the competition focused on B1G partner, Abbott, and their collaboration with the conference on the We Give Blood competition.
UISRM’s team of Owen Parker (ex. minor 2026), Alina Davis (ex. BS 2026), Matthew Pinion (ex. BS 2026), and Taylor Ciabatti (ex. BS 2026) was advised by UISRM Assistant Professor of Instruction, Packy Moran. In addition to taking on competition hosts, the Hawkeyes competed against undergraduate teams from Ohio State, Northwestern, Penn State, and Indiana. Teams learned of the charge on December 1 and had 48 hours to formulate their recommendations and construct their presentation slide deck.
With materials submitted, the team traveled to Indianapolis on December 4. Once on site, competition participants had the opportunity to network with professionals and receive final instructions. Teams presented their work to judges on December 5 prior to attending a VIP Event. Competing teams learned of the results on December 6 before participating in Big Ten Football Championship festivities.
